Obviously, I disagree with his conclusion that being irrational is a virtue, but I am also critical of people like Sam Harris who think their moral choices, ‘at its most base level’ are anything but arbitrary.

Rationality is about how we deal with facts and feelings, as they present themselves to us.

I’m persuaded by your previous arguments that within a specific religious context with specific assumptions (i.e. the divinity of Christ, etc.) that you can “think critically” about that religion. Im not persuaded that you can think critically about your religion at its most base level and still be a believer. I dont think you can believe that Christ was the son of god or Mohammed spoke to the Archangel Gabriel in a cave and still call that “critical thinking”. When one hears these stories s/he should be filled with doubt.
