Now, I know I’m the accommodationalist guy, and so I’m on thin ice with a lot of you with regards to all things religious. I’m ok with that. But if I were going to make a case for the value of religion. I’d start and stop here.
A Reddit user going by the handle “european_douchebag” posted a surreptitious photo of a Sikh woman with the caption “i’m not sure what to conclude from this.” The user’s apparent confusion stems from the fact that the woman—bound by her religion not to cut her hair or alter her body—has an abundance of dark, untrimmed facial hair.
No, you don’t need religion for this, but this is a damn good example of how well it can work… Sikhism is not perfect, but it has some damn good stuff there, and some damn amazing people.
