Best Conference at the End of The World

For the attendees who left Ottawa by car, bus, train or plane, Eschaton 2012 is over but not forgotten.  None of the more than 130 people who celebrated reason at the end of the world are worrying about the world ending on December 21, but they are thinking about how to make the world a more reasonable place for all. A rapt audience listened as Hank Fox, who is A Citizen of Earth, discussed Beta Culture: his plan for “Designing a Post-Religious Culture.”  After his talk, as he promised, Hank posted “Eschaton 2012 Open Thread and Beta Culture Post List.”  Go over to A Citizen of Earth to meet Hank Fox and read his post.  For those who didn’t attend Eschaton 2012, Hank’s post is the next best thing to being there!

AtheismTV filmed all the talks and they will be available soon.  Until then, here is a visible clue to the names of all the speakers:

All the speakers at Eschaton signed the flyleaf of Christopher Hitchens’ Mortality: http://books.google.ca/books/about/Mortality.html?id=CCiZnVG1j4cC&redir_esc=y

More posts on the Best Conference at the End of The World will follow; stay tuned.  Until then,  please read Pharyngula, My Secret Atheist Blog, Butterflies and Wheels.
