This is a picture of a serious man pondering serious and weighty matters important to the Canadian public. However, although he would like these serious and weighty matters to be important to the Canadian public, they aren’t, so he is going to bring them to the attention of the Canadian public.
According to Metro News (Windsor), Essex, Ontario MP Jeff Watson “is drawing attention to the issue of abortion in Canada.” What issue, Mr. Watson? That “issue” was settled a long time ago, almost 25 years ago. It is not an issue, but a few MPs want to make it an issue. Jeff Watson has posted a survey on his website that asks “Which [of five statements] best describes your position”
I’m pleased to see that the first answer, the one that best describes my position is already highlighted:
Ο I support fully taxpayer-funded abortion, at any time in the pregnancy, for any reason at all;
Watson’s introduction to his survey says,
Recently, as parliament debated M-312 to establish a committee to re-examine Canada’s 400 year-old law defining a human being, the founder and Executive Director of the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada called fully taxpayer-funded abortion, at any time, for any reason – including for sex-selection or as birth control – a basic woman’s right.
A Guest submitted a comment under the Metro News article that says
I am the founder and Executive Director of the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, and I do not and have never said what Jeff Watson claims I did in his survey.
He has misleadingly tried to distill my position and put it into his own anti-choice frame, then claim I said it. That is dishonest, and I also consider it defamatory.
Watson has inserted the phrase “at any time, for any reason — including for sex-selection or as birth control” as if it was part of my position. In fact, I have never claimed to support abortion at any time for any reason. . . .
As of 9:30 am today, the results are disappointing:

567 total votes
I support fully taxpayer-funded abortion, at any time in the pregnancy, for any reason at all; 39% – 62%
I support some legal restrictions on access to abortion, for example restricting full access to abortion to the first trimester of pregnancy; 11% – 9%

I support creative policy options and supports that help women with unexpected pregnancies keep the baby; 8% - 4%

However, we can change those results! Go to the survey and vote for option #1; vote for a woman’s right to chose.
