Reminder! Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey Airs Tomorrow

by | March 8, 2014

Just a reminder that the rebooted Cosmos series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey will air tomorrow night. I have high hopes that the series will counteract  some of today’s pseudo-science (as I expressed here) and so does Executive Producer, Seth MacFarlane as he told the LA Times:

I think that there is a hunger for science and knowing about science and understanding of science that hasn’t really been fed in the past two decades. We’ve had a resurgence of creationism and intelligent design quote-unquote theory. There’s been a real vacuum when it comes to science education. The nice thing about this show is that I think that it does what the original “Cosmos” did and presents it in such a flashy, entertaining way that, as Carl Sagan put it in 1980, even people who have no interest in science will watch just because it’s a spectacle. People who watched the original “Cosmos” will sit down and watch with their kids.

Read the entire LA Times interview here (where Seth also talks about the crossing of science and animation nerdom) and be sure to tune in to Global/Fox Sunday, March 9: 9 PM ET/PT, 10 PM MT or Global 7 PM CT for the première! GlobalTV.com/cosmos will stream full episodes of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey online and episodes are typically posted the day after the initial on-air broadcast.
