The Naughty Atheists team shared its vision of a new and improved May long weekend on the Canadian Atheist Facebook page:
Today Canadians are celebrating Queen Victoria’s birthday,
a public holiday, celebrating a 19th century monarch, head
of the church of England with antiquated social and moral values, not reflecting the majority of modern 21st century Canadian views.We propose a 2 step solution to this problem;
1. Change the name of this holiday to “VICTORY DAY”
2. A minor modification to our national flag would mirror
the inclusiveness and tolerance of our beautiful Country!
