The church sign in front of St Giles Presbyterian Church in Peterborough, ON gives Walmart some free advertising.

Dear St. Giles:

Charity begins at home. Next time, consider featuring a local, independent retailer like S.O.S: Save Our Soles.

Cheers,

Valentine’s Day Warning

Trevor M submitted the church sign below.  The picture was taken in Banff, AB on Valentine’s day a couple of year’s ago. I don’t usually celebrate Valentine’s day, but staying in bed and shouting “OH GOD” sounds like more fun than going to church.

These were posted front and back on a local church last summer. I’ve already shared them on Facebook, but thought you might like them. . . .

Pedestrian Church Sign

This sign, mounted in front of Saint Giles Presbyterian Church in Peterborough, ON, is the first of a series of church signs to be posted on this site:

Giles

Peterborough has a lot of churches; therefore, there are a lot of signs.  I see this one as I drive by St. Giles on my way to and from work. The St. Giles slogan is inventive but suggests an improbable walking companion. If exercise is your goal and you don’t want to walk alone, walk with a real companion.

Reader participation: I would really like readers to submit church signs with interesting/remarkable/improbable slogans.  If you would like to submit a sign and have it posted on Canadian Atheist, send an email to veronica@canadianatheist.com with the picture (in JPEG format) attached. Please tell me the name you would like me to use to give you credit for the photo.
