Blue Rodeo: “Stealin’ All My Dreams”

by | September 29, 2015

Blue Rodeo has released a new (hit?) single: “Stealin’ All My Dreams: A Modern Day Protest Song.” Why? Greg Keelor says,

“I didn’t want to talk about it, so I wrote a song about it.”

What is “it”? Jim Cuddy explains,

“Blue Rodeo does not always speak with one voice. However we feel collectively that the current administration in Canada has taken us down the wrong path. We do not seem to be the compassionate and environmentally conscious nation we once were. As respectful as we are of the variety of opinions held by our audience, ‎we felt it was time to speak up and add our voice to the conversation.”

Blue Rodeo reminds us, “Please Vote on October 19.”

Can you blame Harper? He’s found himself in the position of governing a populace, most of whom regard him as counter to their values.

    And why?

Because the moderates can’t decide whether they want “Liberal” or “NDP” (neither of which would be recognizable to same-named parties of a few decades ago). Worse, the Liberal and NDP parties (particularly the Liberal) refuse to cooperate prior to, during, or after the election, virtually guaranteeing a Harper win, and denying most Canadians a government they want, or can even tolerate. It’s disgusting.
